HydraFacial®

What is a Hydrafacial?

HydraFacial® is an invigorating medical grade treatment that delivers long-term skin health and can be tailored to meet the specific needs of all skin types. Hydrafacial uses water to gently exfoliate the skin, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin types. It offers instant, noticeable results with no downtime or irritation. This treatment cleanses, extracts and hydrates while addressing all skin care needs. Boosters can be added to improve firmness, texture, radiance, brown spots, and even fine lines.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Hydrafacial?

Because the Hydrafacial is such a versatile treatment option, it is suitable for a wide range of patients. If you are concerned about fine lines, minor discoloration, acne, or dull and uneven texture, Hydrafacial may be a good option for you. Hydrafacials are suitable for patients with any skin type, including those with sensitive skin. However, Dr. Maxwell will likely recommend a different treatment option if you are concerned with more severe skin issues. This can include problems like scarring or deeper-set wrinkles. Finally, the treatment is not recommended for patients who are currently taking Accutane. During a consultation, Dr. Maxwell will examine your skin and evaluate your concerns to ensure that the Hydrafacial is your best option.

What is the Hydrafacial Procedure Like?

The first step of a Hydrafacial is cleansing and gently exfoliating the skin’s surface using the handheld device. Next, salicylic acid and glycolic acid are applied to the skin to help loosen dead skin cells, dirt, and debris. The Hydrafacial vacuum is then used to suction away debris, impurities, and blackheads. When this step is complete, a custom blend of hydrating serums is applied to the skin to meet your specific needs and suit your skin type. These serums contain antioxidant ingredients to help protect and nourish the skin. Each patient receives a unique, customized serum formula developed before their treatment begins. A soothing arm and hand massage completes the HydraFacial.

Hydrafacial Results

Immediately after your Hydrafacial, you will likely notice some redness and tightening of the skin. These side effects are temporary, and you can immediately return to your normal routine with no downtime. It’s best to wait at least 24 hours before having additional treatments, like injections, and Dr. Maxwell may advise you to avoid strenuous exercise or applying makeup to the skin for one day. You should also avoid using harsh or prescription skincare for two days after your Hydrafacial. Results are immediately noticeable, with improved skin texture, even skin tone, and more luminous appearance. However, results from a Hydrafacial are temporary, so it can be beneficial to repeat the treatment every 5-7 months. During a consultation, Dr. Maxwell can help you choose a treatment plan that will allow you to enjoy healthy, beautiful, glowing skin long-term.
