What is a MicroLaser Peel?

The MicroLaser Peel is a resurfacing treatment limited to the epidermis that evens out skin tone, texture and color, and restores a youthful glow to the skin. The MicroLaser Peel can be delivered with great precision of depth which provides superior results. If you want more than microdermabrasion or peels can provide, this is for you. MicroLaser Peels are suitable for common issues like wrinkles, sun damage, or acne scars.

Who is a Good Candidate for the MicroLaser Peel?

MicroLaser Peels are good options for patients who are concerned about signs of aging like wrinkles and sun damage or other pigmentation and texture issues like acne scars, enlarged pores, or uneven skin tone. The treatment can be modified to suit your unique skin type, conditions, and goals for the procedure, making it suitable for a wide range of patients. During your consultation at our Med Spa, your laser technician will review your skin type and health history as well as evaluating your concerns to make sure that the MicroLaser Peel is a safe and suitable option for you.

The MicroLaser Peel Procedure

Preparation

Before the MicroLaser Peel treatment begins, your laser technician will cleanse your skin and give you protective eye shields. If necessary, a topical numbing cream can be applied to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment.

Handpiece Positioning

Your laser technician will then position the handpiece over the treatment area. This handpiece delivers the laser beams according to the computer-guided scanner for more precise treatment.

Depth Adjustment

Your laser technician will make a recommendation based on the depth of the peel adjusted for your desired outcomes.

Treatment Duration

In total, MicroLaser Peel treatment typically takes about 30 minutes to complete, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Recovery and Results from the MicroLaser Peel

Immediately after treatment, your surface skin cells will be dehydrated, resulting in a “frosty” appearance. These dehydrated skin cells will behin to peel within the following days. In addition to these dead cells, you will notice some redness, mild swelling, and a sensation similar to a sunburn. These side effects are temporary and typically only last 3-4 days on average. Your skin will also be photosensitive, so it is important to avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible and wear SPF 30+ as directed by your laser technician. Wearing SPF is also important to maintain your results long-term.

After the 3-4 day healing period, you will see your results. You should notice an improvement in your skin’s tone and texture, with more even pigmentation and reduced wrinkles or other texture issues.
