Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can restore volume to the face and lips leaving you looking smoother and more youthful. We carry a wide variety of dermal fillers to suit every need. The amount needed varies on a case-by-case basis depending on your desired results.

What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a popular dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid. The Juvéderm line of products can be used for age-related volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles, or non-surgical augmentation of facial features like the lips or cheeks. At Maxwell Aesthetics, we offer several Juvéderm options to address our patients’ needs and meet their cosmetic goals.

Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC

Juvéderm Ultra Plus XC is a denser and thicker formulation of hyaluronic acid filler. This is useful for the perioral area or the lips and makes it capable of creating more dramatic results than other types of Juvéderm. It is very useful for patients who have more severe volume loss or deeper wrinkles. It can also be beneficial for those seeking more dramatic results from lip filler.

Juvéderm Voluma XC

Juvéderm Voluma XC is most often used to restore volume to the cheek area. This product is formulated to move naturally while remaining firm and adding youthful volume to the midface, resolving wrinkles or sagging. Juvéderm Voluma XC is injected deeper into the tissues of the cheeks to create a more youthful appearance. It can also be used to contour the chin and add definition to this area. Results can last up to two years.

Juvéderm Volbella

Juvéderm Volbella is specifically designed for use in the lips or wrinkles around the mouth, such as “smokers’ lines.” The product includes lidocaine, making injections more comfortable overall. Juvéderm Volbella is less dense or firm than Ultra Plus XC, meaning that results may appear subtler or more natural to suit your personal preferences or needs. Results typically last up to a year.

Juvéderm Vollure

Juvéderm Vollure is intended to treat moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. It is useful for wrinkles caused by volume loss and sagging, such as the “parentheses lines” or nasolabial folds that develop around the nose and mouth.

Who is a Candidate for Juvéderm?

Most patients who are concerned with signs of aging including volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging, or folds are good candidates for Juvéderm. It can also be a good option for those who wish to augment facial features like the lips, cheeks, or chin without requiring surgery. During a consultation, your health history will be reviewed to make sure that injections are a safe and suitable option for you. Your injector will also examine the treatment area and review your goals to determine which Juvéderm product is best to meet your needs. Typically, injections can be made immediately following your consultation.

How Long Does Juvéderm Last?

Juvéderm injections are not permanent, because the body will naturally and safely break down the hyaluronic acid over time. The longevity of each Juvéderm product varies, but on average, you can expect to see results last from eight months up to two years. During your consultation, your injector will explain what you can expect from the product chosen for you as well as when you can receive maintenance injections. Results from Juvéderm are immediately noticeable, though you may also see some slight swelling or redness at the injection site, which should quickly dissipate. If you are no longer satisfied with your Juvéderm results and do not want to wait for them to naturally subside, you can receive enzyme injections to dissolve the product.

What is Restylane?

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance which creates a hydrated and more youthful appearance in the skin. Restylane is useful for treating fine lines and wrinkles, restoring youthful volume, or creating plumper lips. Many Restylane products utilize proprietary XpresHAn Technology, which means that the hyaluronic acid is produced with cross-linked gel for more natural movement and results. Maxwell Aesthetics offers several Restylane products to treat areas such as the cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, and perioral area.

Restylane Lyft

Restylane Lyft can be used to restore volume and create a more youthful look in either the face or hands. It was designed to create a smooth and full appearance by replacing fat that is naturally lost as you age. The product is especially useful for the midface or cheek area to provide volume and reduce sagging or folds.

Restylane Defyne

Restylane Defyne can be used to smooth deeper lines, like pronounced marionette lines or nasolabial folds, or to non-surgically augment the chin, creating a more defined and prominent look. Restylane Defyne uses a firmer formula, but still maintains natural-looking results through XpresHAn Technology.

Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne was designed to treat the laugh lines around the mouth, including nasolabial folds or marionette lines. It uses XpresHAn Technology to ensure that the product moves naturally as you make facial expressions.

Restylane Kysse

Restylane Kysse was designed to create natural volume and softness in the lips. The product was developed with Restylane’s XpresHAn Technology to ensure flexible and natural looking movement once injected. Restylane Kysse results typically last a year.

Who is a Candidate for Restylane?

Most patients who are concerned with signs of aging like volume loss, wrinkles, or folds are good candidates for Restylane. It can also be useful for rejuvenating the hands or adding volume to areas like the lips or chin. Before you receive your injections, the treatment area will be evaluated to ensure that Restylane is the best option for you, and your injector will determine which Restylane product would be most beneficial for your concerns. They will also review your health history to ensure that you do not have any health conditions or allergies that would prevent you from safely receiving injections. For example, patients who take blood-thinning medications are typically not good candidates for Restylane.

How Long Does Restylane Last?

You will see immediate effects from your Restylane injections, but due to swelling final results are usually seen about a week after the procedure. Like all hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane injections are not permanent, as the body naturally and safely breaks down the product over time. This means that you will require maintenance injections to keep up your results. The longevity of your results will depend on the specific Restylane product and the injection site. On average, Restylane results last anywhere from 6-18 months. Your injector will explain what you can expect during a consultation.
