Rhinoplasty, sometimes popularly referred to as a “nose job” or “cosmetic nose surgery,” involves reshaping of the nose. The Rhinoplasty is a true three-dimensional procedure, which changes the size and shape of the nose by altering the underlying bone and cartilage. Dr. Maxwell can reduce the overall size of your nose, increase the upturn, make the tip more feminine or make the nose more aesthetically aligned with the other facial features. If you desire a more symmetrical nose, keep in mind that everyone’s face is asymmetric to some degree. Results may not be completely symmetric, although our goal is to create facial balance and correct proportion. The procedure can also correct impaired breathing caused by structural defects in the nose.
As some swelling persists for several months following surgery, changes in the nose tend to present more gradually. Healing time is typically five to seven days, with some bruising in the lower portion of the cheek possibly still remaining, but daily activities can be resumed.
Discomfort from a Rhinoplasty is minimal.
“Dr. Maxwell and staff were professional and seemed genuinely interested in my satisfaction with the outcome. My new nose looks great! I used to hate pictures of my
face close up, but now I love them.”
